Privacy

Nothing leaves your iPhone and your own iCloud.

Tally NotesUpdated 23 October 2026

Your notes

Your notes, pictures and recordings are kept on your device and, when you’re signed in to iCloud, in your own iCloud account, so they appear on your other devices. We have no servers and no accounts, and we can’t read your notes.

Recordings

Recordings are turned into text by Apple’s speech recognition: on your iPhone where it can, or by Apple’s servers if you choose Best accuracy in Settings. Either way they never come to us. Apple’s handling is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy.

What we collect

Nothing. Tally Notes has no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it asks for no personal details.

Permissions

The microphone and speech recognition are asked for only when you record. The camera is asked for only when you scan or take a photo. Face ID is used only if you turn on the app lock.
